We have a new regional structure. The Asia & Oceania regional is going to split into FOUR regions.

The idea loomed back in 2010 when we representatives within the region met in Singapore. Considering the geographic, cultural, and practical reasons, the Asia & Oceania region is divided into four, namely:

  • Southern Asia Region (SAR): India, Bangladesh, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka
  • North East Asia Region (NEAR): China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea N&S, Macau, Taiwan
  • South East Asia Region (SEAR): Borneo, Brunei, Burma/Myanmar, Indonesia, Malaysia/Sarawak, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam
  • Oceania Region (OR): Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands

The transition to the new structure took place in May 2011. And now it is time for me to step down and handover.

We will have our handover meeting this weekend. I have spent some time and effort making a powerpoint sharing my views on how to do things better for IMechE. Hope it helps.

They are our future. The four good lad who will be taking care of our student chapters in the bear future.

Another fruitful day today. Our student chapter in university of Macau had their inauguration ceremony today. Mr WK Chow, Mr Louis Szeto, Mr Chris Chong, Mr Howard Tong and I, together with reps from HKUST and IVE attended their ceremony in Macau today.

Congrats to SC in Macau

Well spoken speech, Howard.

I always think a fantastic speech would be one that is truly from heart. Yesterday I heard one, truly from heart and also inspiring.

Well said, Howard.

Today is a big day.

Our young member section student chapters from HKU, HKPolyU, HKUST, and IVE Tsing Yi is having their joint inauguration ceremony today.

The idea has been floating around for a while, thanks to our Young Member Section Chairman Howard Tong, we achieved this today.

A Lot of changes has been going around here in IMechE. No matter what we are all looking hard to find wats to better serve our members.

Have not write for long. Today finally find time to briefly let you know we are still strong and healthy.

Tomorrow is the day when IMechE Hong Kong Branch has its Annual General Meeting cum Annual Dinner. The venue would be Hong Kong Jockey Club.
